There is a visceral love that binds us to this land, a passion that has ancient roots and resides in each one of us who decides to dedicate his or her life to this mission: safeguarding the land. These are emotions and values that we try to convey to the tourists who come to visit us, and very often we succeed, because our tour is much more: it is the discovery of the soul of Amalfi and its people who care for it.
As of today, about 40 percent of the terraces in the Valley are abandoned, where over the centuries farmers with toil and sweat have sculpted the mountains, coloring them with the deep yellow of Sfusato amalfitano, today one often sees a dry garden. What flourishes is in the hands of a few farming families who persist in heroic crops, that is, those carried on in inadequate soils that with effort due to land conditions will see fruit.

But it is not only the difficulty of cultivating the land that has labeled our agriculture as “heroic” over time. Working on the terraces means climbing mountains every day, walking thousands of stairs up and down and often laden with lemons and tools. If cultivation is complex, harvesting tests the farmers’ strength even more. Certainly our work of transporting quintals of lemons is supported by the use of cable cars, (cable cars used exclusively for freight transport) capable of transporting the lemons downstream, but where the cable car cannot reach, the transport is done on the shoulders with boxes of about 50 kg each.
The difference between the Sfudato Amalfitato Igp lemon and any other lemon, even top quality ones, is in the substance, in the organoleptic differences, in the peel, in the essential oils, in the pulp, in the scent it gives off. Limone Sfusato Amalfitano has at least 4 times more essential oils than any other lemon. Those of our own production are 100 percent organic, and slightly less than half of the total production is used by our company for the production of limoncelli, sweets, and juices.
