About us

A story that began 200 years ago

My name is Gianmarco Aceto, I am a licensed Agronomist, and I belong to the seventh generation of farmers in the Aceto family, engaged in lemon growing and lemon processing on the Amalfi Coast. I was born among the lemons, and from my father Salvatore, my uncle Marco and, above all, my grandfather Giggino, I learned how much passion and love for one’s land pays for the sacrifices of this work, defined as the work of heroic agriculture. What we do in our lemon groves and particularly on the terraces is a work not only of caring for Nature but also of preserving the roots: a work for which experts and scholars over time have given historical-anthropological merit, because without the labor of those who persist in maintaining the terraces all this cultural wealth would have been lost over time.

Our history as lemon growers began in 1825 in Ravello, when Salvatore Aceto bought a small piece of land, thus beginning production and trade. Gradually production became more substantial to the point that the company gained national and international fame in the early postwar period.
Sicilian and Calabrian competition was kept at bay thanks to the exceptional nature of the product grown: the “Sfusato Amalfitano,” unique in the world for its quality and characteristics.
In the 1960s our family purchased substantial amounts of land in the “Valle Dei Mulini,” capable of producing about 700 quintals of lemons per year.

A few years later, the name of the location of our terraces became our brand name, introducing the products throughout the country, many E.C. countries, America, Australia and Japan. The farm existing today was registered in the 1950s.
